Solar Surveys
When you approach us to install Solar PV for you, rest assured a full and comprehensive survey will be carried out to check our proposal will meet your requirements, and a detailed quote will be issued.
We will check your existing roof structure can handle the additional weight, and is able to cope with the wind and snow load. A roof with a pitch lower than 30 degrees, or a complex cut roof may require a full survey. If this is required, we will organise for this though our trusted Solar surveyors.
We will check the existing roof covering, to see if it is suitable to be worked on, or if any remedial works are required before we carry out an installation. This could be down to replacing a couple of broken slates or tiles, or it could be holes in your felt.
We will assess whether any existing structures, trees, power cables or telephone lines cause any shading issues with the proposed array. A shading analysis will be provided within our proposal as this may have an impact on the systems production, so is important to identify at the proposal stage.
We will check the orientation of your roof(s), the pitch, and accurately measure the roof to see what can be installed.
Not having a direct South facing roof does not mean you should not have Solar PV installed. An East/West split system can offer system production equaling that of a direct South facing system.
It maybe that you haven’t considered how we can install a Solar PV system across multiple sections of your home, across multiple orientations, increasing your systems capacity.
Once we have carried out our onsite survey, we will 3D model your property to scale. This allows us to try multiple options, trying the panels in landscape or portrait, to show you exactly how your system will look, and also allows us to maximise your properties Solar PV potential!
